Harsh words today about adultery. I could focus on all the negatives, but instead I want to look at verses 18 and 19, May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. These are beautiful words that totally make me think of my wife Nancy. There is no one I love more on this earth than her and I love her more every day of my life. I pray that God lets me focus on her and pursue her more each day!
From the outside looking in, you do a pretty good job of loving your wife. Obviously, she has the last say in it, but I really respect y’all’s marriage. I can tell you guys have worked through some tough stuff but are in it together and stayed together. You guys just seem real. It’s a real inspiration and example for those of us a few years behind.
Solomon’s words of warning are just as applicable to the ladies out there, too. Men aren’t the only ones who get tempted. 🙂
Sarah, its funny you keyed in on the warning being applicable to women also – b/c that is exactly what I was thinking.
I liked the reminder that we are always in God’s sight. It’s appropriate here in the warning, but even taken out of context, it is a great promise and reassurance to us in any time of time.
