Paul’s ultimate purpose is to bring others to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Paul is the example of using all circumstances to bring people to Christ and he shows it in verse 29, Paul replied, “Short time or long–I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.” May we all never let an opportunity pass us by to share the gospel of Christ.

Daily Devotion 
That was the same verse that jumped out at me. How many times have I prayed for someone or something…short term? It’s convicting, to say the least. I have a current situation with my family/siblings that I just DON’T pray about enough. I know I need to daily, even multiple times a day, take it to the Lord to ask that he show himself in the situation. And I need to pray that prayer for the long term. I need the praying heart of Paul who was determined, no matter what, to pray for his circumstances and those around him.
