Verse 105 speaks volumes to me, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. There is nothing like walking in the woods in the dark. It is intimidating when you can’t see the ground in front of you; you slow down, you are more cautious, and you can easily get disoriented with your direction. What is amazing is how little light you need to change everything. A simple little light can make all the difference in your confidence and your ability to speed up your progression. The same applies when it comes to walking with God and allowing Him to light your path. When you know He is with you and He is guiding you, you can move with confidence and know that the things that not in the light really don’t matter.
Dude! Your comment, “you can move with confidence and know that the things that are not in the light really don’t matter”. For whatever reason, that totally hit me. It’s like a light bulb came on (no pun intended:)…OK. maybe slightly…). That completely describes what the Lord has been teaching me over the past year. If he hasn’t illuminated it, if he hasn’t put it in front of me, it doesn’t matter. My concentration doesn’t need to go there. He has really taught me how to not get distracted from the path he has put in front of me. I have kind of had the feeling that if I were to take just a second to look at stuff not directly on the path, I’d see the big scary monsters and quit. But God’s incredible grace has reminded me each time to keep my eyes focused on where he’s taking me. He’s got the scary monsters covered. I just gotta keep movin’ forward on the part of that path that is lit.
I may have to write down your comment and stick it on my mirror. Good stuff!
Thanks, Sarah!
