As I was reading this morning, Psalm 34:8 jumped out to me, Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. I looked at the notes in my Bible to see what this verse was trying to say. What it means is to try God out and see for yourself what He is really like. When we step out in obedience to Him, He does not leave us standing alone. He is always good and kind and takes care of us. The more we trust in Him, the more we realize how good He is.
“Keep your eyes on the Lord! You will shine like the sun and never blush with shame.” This has been my verse this past year.
And, Dino, right on. That verse also reminds us that God is God and not us. It’s not our job to sell him to people. He can pretty much take care of that himself. You get a taste of him and your sold. Our disposition should be a reflection of his love and grace. We should be the beautiful fragrance.
