Hebrews 12:2 says it all for me today, Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Our attention should not be on anything other than Jesus. He deserves our attention and honor through everything we do. We will never be outside His will and His perfect plan if we seek Him before we ever do anything else.
The other verse that stood out to me was Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. When we talk about the changing of our relationship with Jesus, it is us who changes, not Him. He loves us the same and it is up to us to allow Him into our lives to experience everything He wants to do for us.
Love love love this passage. When my faith is weak, I come here. One verse that really stuck out to me,
12:15 Make sure that no one misses out on God’s wonderful kindness.
How? By being God’s kindness. We are his reflection at all times. It is his kindness that draws people to redemption. His kindness is attractive. His kindness has often been blocked from view by the way we live our lives. This is a daily goal of mine. It’s not something I can do. If I try to be kind when I’m not feeling it, people can tell it’s put on. It’s like watching a bad actor in a movie. But if I allow Jesus to let God’s kindness come through, it’ll happen…and then I look around wondering who delivered such kindness, cuz it sure as heck wasn’t me! 🙂
Ha! Sarah, you and I are the same. Sometimes I am shocked by the goodness that comes out of me, then I realize it is directly from God and not me. It is by God’s grace there is good in me.
