For today’s reflection, I though I would share this simple quote by arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. We as believers spend too much time striving for perfection. It is not in those pursuits that God’s power can be used the most. It is in our realization that we can’t do it without Him. We are going to miss shots in life. But when we do, let us remember that God never misses if we allow Him to be in control.
I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. –Michael Jordan
Love it! Most of the most successful people in the world failed multiple times and failed big time. I’m not sure how Christianity got so infused with a fear of doing the wrong thing or making the wrong decision, but we have to throw that shackle off.
