1 Timothy 6:10 is a verse used by people who think money is good and bad, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. The reality is that money is neither good or bad. The desire to be rich is what leads people to sin, not the actual possession of wealth. However, there comes a time when money will himder us from stepping out in faith and allowing God to lead us and take care of us. Do not let the love of money be your guide, but let God lead you into using His blessings for the good of His kingdom.

I love these chapters because Paul just lays out some very practical advice on how to run the church and take care of others. There is so much advice given regarding people taking personal responsibility for their own families so that the church can take care of those who truly have no one.
The passage you referred to regarding money is such a great passage and I love how the CEV puts 6:6
And religion does make your life rich, by making you content with what you have.
Being content with what you have is something we all need reminding of.
