We should all be encouragers of each other’s faith. As Paul closes out his second letter to the Corinthian church he does just that. In 2 Corinthians 13:9 Paul says, We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is for your perfection. Believers should be caring and encouraging people who work to bring each other up. Our walk with Christ should not be a competition, but one where we work together to draw each other closer to Him.

We all sin because of our imperfect and flawed nature. And sometimes it is easier to justify our imperfection by playing the comparison game with other people. Jesus clearly stated that we have no business judging or comparing ourselves to others. Luke 6:42, “How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Distracting ourselves and others away from our sin by pointing out another person’s imperfections accomplishes nothing. We are to spend our time working on our relationship with God and encouraging one another to that end. Judgement is reserved for the only one qualified to do so; God.
