Love, Protection

God’s power cannot be contained, but He is able to protect us and be with us no matter where we are. In Psalm 3:4 David says, To the Lord I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. When we need Him, He is there. There is no hesitation from the Lord when we need Him.

Love, Relationship, Wisdom

As a society we give to much value to physical beauty; but true beauty comes from the inside. Proverbs 31:30 says, Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who loves the Lord, and because of that Love and relationship with Him, has unquestionable character and integrity. We need to reevaluate our societal standards and give respect and honor to the things that matter. Physical beauty will only go so far and will not last forever, but our love of God lasts for eternity.

Love, Protection, Trust

Finding people we can trust is much easier said than done. But Proverbs 18:24 says: A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Though it may seem impossible, pray that God provides people in our lives we can trust and know they will be closer than our own family. God will use trusted companions to help shape us and lead us to live life according to God’s perfect plan for us.

Love, Protection

One of the beautiful things about being a believer is we have a loving God to lean on when things fall apart around us. Proverbs 14:32 reminds us: When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge. Those who stand alone without God have nothing to hold them up when everything is falling apart around them. But the Father is always with those who believe and choose to lean on Him, even when things go south, He is there to love us and hold us up in the storm.

Love, Righteousness

Love for God and love for sin cannot coexist. Proverbs 8:13 says, To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. To harbor sin in your life is to tolerate evil. By committing ourselves fully to God we work to break from sin. We will never be perfect, but we should always strive towards righteousness.

Grace, Love

Nothing we do is ever hidden from God. Proverbs 5:21 says, For man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths. Which is why we should be so thankful for God’s grace. Even though He knows our perfection, He still gives us forgiveness and loves us just the same.

Love, Obedience

God’s main concern is that we love one another the way He loves us. 2 John 1:6 says:  And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. If we are obedient to the Father, then we will love others. Everything we do should be in love as a reflection of His love for us.

Love

Just like a parent loves their child before the child even knows what love is, God loved us first as well. 1 John 4:19 says: We love because he first loved us. We will know what true love looks like when we allow God’s love to reflect through us.

Love, Protection, Trust

In today’s reading, Paul begins with a very detailed warning to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:1-5: 1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. If we read this thoroughly, it reminds us of the world we live in today. Sadly, it is the same world we have always lived in. It is not meant to be perfect, but God is and He loves us and protects us just the same.

Courage, Love, Truth

Since when do we as believers start bowing to the demands of our society? We are commanded to love others as Christ would love them, but we were not given the command to fit our beliefs into societal norms. As we begin Paul’s second letter to Timothy, we read in 2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. There is nothing timid about our commands from Christ. He commanded us to love others and to boldly share His truths in that love. Christ is the savior of the world. There is nothing timid about that.
