We all have sorrow in our lives because we all have sin. It is how we react to sin that really matters in our lives and our well being. Verse 10 says, Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. When we are the ones who repent to God and don’t wait for the world to be the one to point out our sin, we experience forgiveness that allows us to be restored to our faith instead of shaming us away from it.
I read. I’m processing the difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow. How many times do we hit a point of sorrow and wonder why God is not with us? The fact usually is tht he is allowing us to go through this. For like the scripture says, that is the path to repentance and life, and that Godly sorrow is temporary.
Sweet!!
Good read! After reading this passage many times, I searched the difference between worldly sorrow and Godly sorrow. What I found was that worldy sorrow showed a more ‘sorry you got caught’ mentality, whilst Godly sorrow lead to repentance. I argued this in that you can still be an unbeliever and truly be sorry for your sin but without God that ultimately still leads to death.
Good stuff Graham! Glad you joined!
I knew there was a difference in the two but never read the difference from a biblical point. That’s cool.
