It is important to remember that without God we can do nothing. It is also important to remember that God wants us to spend time preparing to do His work. Verse 31 says, The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord. While God can do anything, we must be diligent in preparing ourselves to be used by His strength and for His purpose.
To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles. (Proverbs 21:3, 5, 23 NKJV)
Those three verses should be a roadmap for leadership. Live a righteous and just life, be patient and diligent in your pursuits in life, and guard your tongue, because it has more power than you could ever imagine.
As one of the few, if not only woman, reading along with you guys, the verses regarding a nagging wife always stick out to me. God forbid I ever become that kind of wife! Always a good reminder. π
