As I read this mornings passages in Exodus, I kept thinking how tedious it was just reading it. Then I realized how tedious it must have been to actually build it. I like to do woodworking when I have a spare moment and I know how much effort it takes to build something of quality and precision. How much more it must have been to build something to the glory of God? It’s not enough to do things for God as a “check mark” and to simply say we completed a task. We must remember when we do things for a righteous God we are doing it for His glory. We must take the time and effort to bring glory to Him and be a reflection of His perfection.

Hmmmm. Interesting thoughts there Dino. I’m thoroughly impressed you pulled something applicable out of that!!! Ha! Reading through it, I’m wondering why God wanted it “just so”. Wonder where I could find a reputable source on that or if it’s just one of those things you just chalk up to God being God.
Anyway, the idea of doing everything with precision and excellence. Yes! Needed that today! For some reason, within the Christian ghetto we have created, we have accepted sub par at so many levels. It should be just the opposite! We serve an indescribably amazing God. Why would we ever want to put something out there that isn’t our best reflection of him whether it be music, poetry, programming, answer phones, talking to customers, singing, organizing someone’s closet, painting, caring for the needy? …you name it. We don’t serve a mediocre God so why would we ever want to be or do mediocre?
And, of course, I loved today’s Proverb for purely selfish reasons. 😉
