Today we finish up the book of James and I appreciate what he has to say in James 5:12, Above all, my brothers, do not swear – not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, or you will be condemned. We all know that person who likes to exaggerate the truth. And with Social media in play, we see many “creative liberties” with the way people present their lives. A person’s reputation is formed by living a life of integrity and their ability to present who they are and what they do in a truthful manner. When someone lies, presents half-truths or omissions of the truth, they become untrustworthy. In the end, the truth always makes its way to the surface. Mark Twain once said, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”
