Too often we ask God to bless us and in turn give us the glory. In the best case, we may ask God to give us the glory while giving Him the glory at the same time. We may give God the glory for blessing us, but we get our own praise in the process. An example would be when we ask God for help with work so that we can be noticed and rewarded. There is nothing wrong with impressing people around us as long as we are certain God is not lost in the process. Psalm 115:1 says, Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Before we ask God for anything, let us make sure we are doing it for the right reasons. We should also make sure God is praised and all glory goes to Him.
