Faith, Protection, Trust

When we face trouble, we may be able to find shelter and rest in other distractions, but God is the only place we find eternal peace if we look to Him and trust in His perfect plan. David recognized this in Psalm 62:2, He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. There is no doubt about who alone David felt was his protector. Let this be an example to us when we face trouble. God will never leave us. We may lose focus on Him, but He will never lose focus on us.

Love, Protection, Trust

David was one of the most capable men in the Bible. He was known as a man after God’s own heart. And no one knew more about needing God’s protection, comfort, and love than David. In Psalm 61:1 David calls out to God, Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. David did not ask this out of doubt, but out of confidence that God would always be with him. Let us use the example David has set before us and remember God’s infinite love and desire to always be with us.

Faith, Protection, Trust

Fear is normal; we all feel it at some point in our lives. Even David felt fear. However, in Psalm 56:3 David says, When I am afraid, I will trust in you. David knew that mortal man could only do so much and God was his protector. His enemies may win a battle on occasion, but the war would be won by God in the end.

Protection

God is our protector. In Psalm 54:5 David makes this clear, Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them. This is a warning that God’s intention is for honesty and integrity. Everything else will be dealt with in kind.

Blessings, Love, Protection

If we were to stop long enough to think of all God has done for us, we would never be able to remember them all. In Psalm 39:5 David says, Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. Not only are there too many things to remember, but there are things God has done for each of us that we don’t even realize. Praise God for his never ending protection and unlimited blessings on each of our lives.

Faith, Hope, Protection, Trust

When we trust in God to protect us in hard times, He delivers us. When the Bible talks about “fearing” the Lord, it means we respect Him and trust Him. He never stops sheltering us from this crazy world if we simply believe in Him and His ability to deliver us.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalm 34:7

Faith, Peace, Protection

Psalm 23 is one of the most iconic of all passages of scriptures. In this Psalm David is fully submit to God and His power to protect in times of need. In the first verse, Psalm 23:1, David says, The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. There is peace and comfort in knowing God is the provider of all our needs. We may not have all we want, but we can rest assured we will have all we need.

Peace, Protection

There is peace in knowing we have an all-powerful God on our side. In Psalm 20:7 David says, Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. While others find comfort in earthly means of protection, our God is all we need. Trust in Him and His perfect plan and you will find peace.

God is our ultimate protector. In Psalm 17:8 David says, Keep me the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. I always though the term “apple of my eye” was very strange when describing someone dear to us. But the apples (pupils) of our eyes are something we all protect vigorously. The same goes for us with God. We are the apple of His eye and he will protect us just as vigorously.

Peace, Protection

David knew God was always by his side. In Psalm 16:8 David says, I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. The world could be coming down around him with David standing alone, but he always walked as though God were standing right beside him through it all. Let us all live our lives knowing we are not alone. God loves us and never leaves us whether we choose to realize it or not.
